This website and my forthcoming book, American Metaphysics, have been in the making for more than a decade. This is my dream: to inform you about american metaphysics and how it shaped the creation of the United States of America. Contrary to what many believe, this country was not founded by Evangelicals, but Deists, who were passionately devoted to the betterment of humankind.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a deist is "someone who believes in a single god who created the world but does not act to influence events: The deists of the eighteenth century invented their own "natural theology." Jefferson and Lincoln are but two examples of those who would best be described as Deist.
